The success of our community lies in our ability to empower neighbors who see a need for change and increase their capacity to take action.
The WCDC is committed to growing leadership capacity in our community by supporting long-time leaders and developing emerging leaders. We do this first and foremost by serving as a hub that connects people and resources. We also have programs that help leaders incubate their ideas or take them to the next level.
- Grants for Great Ideas: Community Development Subgrants – The WCDC offers grants to help new organizations that wish to serve the needs of the Westside community. Guidelines are available and the application process begins with an informational meeting each December for funding beginning in the following July.
Email: Director@westsideventura.org for Grants Guidelines - Idea Hub – Twice a year we gather local leaders to share ideas for addressing needs in the community. In the Idea Hub, we help each other by brainstorming, identifying resources and possible next steps and preparing projects that may be eligible for subgrants.
Check Calendar for date of the next IDEA HUB - Meeting Space – We share the generosity of our donated office space by offering meeting space, when possible, to groups that are working in our community.
