The WCDC is excited to launch the Avenue Ambassador Pilot Program starting Monday, March 25th. Our new ambassador is Angela Carradine– learn more about her below. You will find her circulating Ventura Avenue to assist residents and businesses with creating a safe and clean Westside.
Angela Carradine her family moved to the Westside three and a half years ago. The former UCLA student worked for the solar installation company Grid Alternatives and has been a professional dog walker for over twenty years. She is a wife and mother with a passion for energy conservation and a deep love for the Westside. Angela is also bilingual, and will bring a friendly and supportive presence to the Avenue.
“My hopes for the Avenue are that current and incoming residents will work together to improve and express positive Westside pride while safeguarding the diversity that has evolved from it.” ~ Angela Carradine
The WCDC has contracted with Downtown Ventura Partners to hire an ambassador who will provide a positive and proactive presence on the Avenue. The Avenue Ambassador Pilot Program has been made possible by the City of Ventura and will last three months until June 14th, 2019. During that time we expect a significant decrease in negative incidents reported on the Avenue, strengthened communications between the WCDC and local businesses and improvements in cleanliness. It is the WCDC’s hope that the Avenue Ambassador Program will prove indispensable, allowing us to secure the funding needed to sustain it with the long-term goal of increasing vibrancy and economic activity on the Avenue.
The WCDC will be raising funds to continue the Avenue Ambassador Program after the pilot period ends in June. If you would like to get involved in building support for the program, please contact Jackie Pearce at the WCDC at Director@WestsideVentura.org or call 805-628-3869.
