Makers Space Program

In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, WCDC launched the Pura Avenida Makerspace Workforce Development Initiative which partners with STEMbassadors, Inc. to provide training
for underemployed and unemployed young adults and youth of the Westside community.
A particular focus is on outreach to underrepresented minority community members. Training has two primary principles. First, to prepare people for success in local careers and get them employed, and second, to help participants start small businesses and secure microloans in order to supplement family incomes.
